Opening 29 May 2009, is emerging contemporary photographer, Babi Prokas inaugural Solo Exhibition Titled “the world through my eyes”
Babi Prokas is a zealous photographer of 20 years. He is a Johannesburg born entrepreneur and explorer of the world.
Babi Prokas is a recent winner of the 2009 Profoto Awards by Sony Amateur Award. The competition attracted 6000 entries across 18 countries. The Gala Awards took place in Johannesburg on 7 April 2010 where he received acclaimed recognition.
Over the years Babi has been under the mentorship of Dennis da Silva, Partner of Silvertone International (Pty) Ltd. He strives for excellence and constantly measures himself against the world best Photography.
Babi captures magical and thought provoking moments in original state with very little digital manipulation. The world through Babi’s eyes connects the audience to a photographer whose ability lies in translating the ordinary into extraordinary. This is combined with stringent and experienced technical skills in working with the camera and subject matter.
Babi returned to South Africa in November 2009 after spending four years in Greece. He has travelled over 100 cities and 32 countries.
